Experience: I have been active in social ministry for my entire life. As a teenager, I volunteered in an orphanage and immediately fell in love with children, especially those among us who needed an extra dose of assistance. My career path was delayed as I was raising a family. I was active in many community, school and church organizations and held various positions of leadership. I waited thirteen years to return to the business world, staying home with our daughter, who is adopted from India. My teenage dream of adopting a child finally came true.

My most recent work experience was serving as Director of Religious Education in a catholic church. I remained in that position for sixteen years, retiring in June 2015. I had many responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

  • Planning curriculum
  • Interviewing and hiring volunteers
  • Overseeing teachers
  • Teaching children and adults
  • Voluminous paperwork, including impeccable record keeping
  • Planning/organizing special events and activities

I am currently a volunteer Reading Partner with the Charleston County School District, working with children who need help in reading. I am active in church ministry, including teaching and other social justice projects. I am an Associate member of the Sisters of Saint Cyril and Methodius in Danville, PA. I spend several weeks at their Mother House doing volunteer work, including co-chairing their annual fundraiser in July. I have been a Board Member since the onset of the African Eduction Outreach, May 2014. I have been involved with the grassroots of the organization.

Education: Masters of Arts in Pastoral Ministry, (MAPM) Oblate School of Theology (2009) B.A. in French, College of Charleston (1994) A.A. in Liberal Arts, Hagerstown Jr. College (1976)
